Booker T. Washington Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation outpatient therapy offers senior adults continuing rehabilitation from injury, illness or surgery after returning home. It is our goal to create a care plan which allows each patient to experience a smooth transition from inpatient to outpatient rehab.

Physical Therapy – remediates impairments and promotes mobility and function through the use of exercise therapy, manual therapy, electrotherapy, movements and mechanical force.

Occupational Therapy – Development, maintenance and/or recovery of meaningful activities of daily living through various assessments and interventions.

Speech Therapy – Evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of communication, voice and swallowing disorders through various therapeutic modalities.  Also includes the enhancement and treatment of cognition.

A variety of modalities can be employed to reduce or relieve pain, decrease swelling, promote circulation, and reduce lessen muscle spasm. In some cases, physical therapy can also be used to administer medication, in conjunction with other procedures. Examples of common modalities are ultrasound, ice, heat, traction, and electrical stimulation.
